Latest Business Support From East Riding Of Yorkshire Council - 04/01/21

East Riding of Yorkshire Council are pleased to provide our latest Covid-19 business support update.
Extended opening hours
Retailers and businesses in the East Riding can extend their opening hours to take advantage of new permissions in the Government’s local tiered restrictions, from Monday-Saturday during December 2020 and January 2021: https://www.eastriding.gov.uk/business/coronavirus-support-for-businesses/#extend-my-business-opening-hours


New procurement rules to benefit smaller businesses:-
The Government has published a green paper outlining changes to the UK’s procurement rules which will allow more small and medium-sized businesses to win public sector contracts. The Government has also confirmed that the public sector contracts which are not subject to international trade rules can be awarded to British businesses. The bidding process for contracts under £4.7 million for public works and £122,000 for goods and services can be limited to small businesses, voluntary, community and social enterprises, or to a certain geographical area.

ACS (the Association of Convenience Stores) has published an EU Exit Readiness briefing for the convenience sector to help retailers consider how their business may be affected when the transition period ends on 31 December 2020.
